Anti-Bullying Week

This week has been ‘Anti-Bullying Week’ in school and throughout the country. The children made some bunting which will be displayed outside next week and we also created a video where the children celebrated what made them unique.

Tudor Houses

To prepare for our practical work on Tudor houses, Year 4 have created some interesting fact-files to present the information they have discovered through research. In the next few weeks we will be creating our very own Tudor houses so any donations of cardboard would be welcome.

The Big First Aid Lesson

This afternoon, Year 3 and Year 4 took part in the country-wide ‘Big First Aid Lesson’, where we learned how to treat a burn, help someone who is choking and offer basic first aid. The children really enjoyed their online lesson and received a certificate for participating. Well done! #BigFirstAidLesson

Brilliant Balances

Today in Real PE, we were focusing on static balances including front, back and side support and we adapted them to have a greater challenge. Fantastic effort and focus today Year 4!

Centipede’s 100 shoes – Practical Maths Lesson

On Tuesday, we used the book ‘Centipede’s 100 Shoes’ as a stimulus for our Maths lesson. We were surprised to learn that centipedes only have 42 feet so it was our task to share out his remaining 58 shoes with his insect friends!

Reaction times in Real PE

In Real PE, we tested our reaction times and ability to balance. Our focus this term is on the ‘Cognitive Cog’, we will look at how we can improve and adapt games in PE to add to our level of challenge.

Growth Mindset in full flow…

Today, Year 4 completed a new practical maths challenge and we were able to use our growth mindsets to work through the questions. Each group worked fantastically well, using trial and improvement to reach their answers. Excellent work Year 4!

Learning about the ‘Rights of a Child’

Last week, we learnt about the Rights of a Child and we created posters to share our ideas with others. The children produced some fantastic posters and we discussed whether every child in the world has equal opportunity to these rights, it was very thought provoking…
